GRAHAM CARLOS TO JASPER~AS PART OF THE INDIANA UNIVERSITY BICENTENNIAL SPEAKING TOUR \n“HEALTHY & MOTIVATED WORKFORCE” \nDr. W. “Graham” Carlos is a 2001 graduated of Notre Dame and a 2005 graduate of IUSM.  He completed his Residency in Internal Medicine at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis where he served as Chief Resident.  Following his Residency\, Dr. Carlos completed a 3 year fellowship in Pulmonary & Critical Care Medicine at IUSM and also earned a masters degree in clinical research from IUPUI.  Widely recognized for his outstanding teaching and clinical care\, Dr. Carlos is a member of the Gold Humanism Honor Society and Alpha Omega Honor Medical Society.  He is very engaged with the American Thoracic Society and serves on multiple committees and has authored several publications ranging from bedside teaching to pulmonary fibrosis.  He is the current Chair for the 1800 member Section on Medical Education. \nSeating is available for 20.  No charge to attend. \nRSVP by March 30th so we know you will be here.  Jasper Chamber ~ 812-482-6866 or chamber@jasperin.org \nEVENT POSTPONED – WILL RESCHEDULE IN JUNE OR JULY.

DESCRIPTION:The Jasper Park & Recreation Department\, Jasper Chamber of Commerce\, and Patoka 2000 is again sponsoring the annual tree giveaway.  This year’s event is scheduled for Wednesday\, April 22nd starting at 9 am at The Parklands\, located at 800 W 15th Street.  The event this year will be drive-thru only due to the COVID-19 outbreak.  All City of Jasper and Dubois County Health Department recommendations will be followed. \nThis year’s seedlings from the State Nursery will include the following species:  Red Bud\, Red Oak\, White Oak\, Sugar Maple\, Persimmon\, Sycamore\, Tulip Tree\, American Plum\, Pecan\, PawPaw\, and Black Cherry. \nEach person will be limited to 6 seedlings.

SUMMARY:Active Shooter Trauma Management Seminar
DESCRIPTION:Presented by Edge Medical Training & Tactics\, LLC – Using proven training methods taught to military and law enforcement personnel\, this course gives you the tactical and medical knowledge to be prepared to survive and save lives in the event of an active shooter crisis.  YOU ARE THE FIRST RESPONDER!!  This does not take place of what local law enforcement will do for the business to help prevent the active shooter situation\, but this is a course on what to do when the shooter situation develops\, etc… \nSome background on Mark Wilson\, the instructor – Mark Wilson is a Master Sargent in the United States Air Force\, specializing in Special Tactics the last 15+ years as an IDMT\, working alongside Para Rescue and Combat Controllers.   The last 9 years\, he has trained Law Enforcement personnel in Tactical Trauma Care.  Mark is a 7th Degree Black Belt Master Instructor with over 35 years training in Tae Kwon Do.  He is also a Military Instructor in Krav Maga for the last 7 years. \n$120 per Person – Lunch will be provided.  Payment and RSVP due by April 23.  Make checks payable to – Jasper Chamber of Commerce \nRSVP to the Jasper Chamber no later than Thursday\, April 23 chamber@jasperin.org or 812-482-6866 \n*CANCELLED – POSTPONED FOR NOW!
